Laura Mercier

Laura Mercier is an internationally acclaimed makeup artist known for creating flawless complexions. Beginning as a painter in Provence, France before transitioning to make-up artistry in the US to pursue her beauty dreams, Mercier became a make-up artist, working magazine covers and editorial shoots and believing women should wear natural-looking makeup which enhanced their own natural beauty; thus inspiring the launch of her eponymous cosmetics line in 1996.

She is well-known for creating radiant-enhancing foundations, concealers, lipsticks and eye products that promote radiant skin tone. One of her best-selling products is Flawless Foundation Primer which creates an ideal surface for makeup application while the Translucent Loose Setting Powder covers imperfections while helping makeup last longer.

Richard Taylor

Richard Taylor is a 5-time Oscar winning film artist who co-founded New Zealand prop and special effects company Weta Workshop. He worked on numerous movies such as Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and Avatar; receiving various prestigious awards in this field such as live action direction, production design and special effects work from companies such as 7UP, Coca Cola and Disney – with which he directed commercials that earned three Clio Awards for their commercials he directed for them all.

He studied graphic design at Wellington Polytechnic and worked on puppet caricatures for New Zealand television satire Public Eye, before creating with Tania Rodger RT Effects as the precursor of Weta Workshop.

He has provided special effects for low-budget black comedy films like Meet the Feebles and Braindead, costumes, prosthetics, miniatures, miniature vehicles, miniature people, prosthetics, costumes for films such as Lord of the Rings trilogy, District 9 The Chronicles of Narnia and King Kong as well as for District 9. Currently living in Denver he makes Horror/Comedy films with Bizjack Flemco production company.

Sam Fine

Sam Fine has established himself as one of the country’s premier makeup artists for African American models, singers and actresses. His work has graced Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar Essence Vibe Marie Claire magazine covers as well as being chosen as their first African American spokesperson spokesman for Revlon and Covergirl cosmetics.

Fine Beauty: Basics and Beyond for African-American Women is his debut book. Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, he earned his keep working at makeup counters before graduating from Percy L. Julian High School.

Fine believes the issue with makeup for people of color goes well beyond lack of choice; rather it stems from image and role models, cultural sensitivity issues and fears associated with buying and applying it. On his appearance on the show he shared some essential techniques for looking good – how to gracefully groom eyebrows, apply foundation seamlessly and add definition through mascara and lipstick use.

Effie Go Inigo

Effie Go Inigo, former beauty queen turned makeup artist, is known for transforming many of today’s biggest stars. Her clients include Kapuso host Suzie Entrata; Maxene Magalona and Young Heart Evangelista from Maxene Magalona’s hit television show; former teen actress Carol Banawa from Carol Banawa Productions as well as MTV VJ Shannen Torres from MTV VJ. Her signature look is clean, fresh, radiant faces; she even prepares veils so brides-to-be can envision their wedding day before they take part in her no-fail trial makeup process which allows the bride wear it through an event while providing full day trials so brides-to-see how long-wears their looks hold up throughout their event!
